 Let’s Respond is a Food Bank based in the Bronx derived out of necessity and emergency crisis attributed by the COVID-19 Virus that has viciously led our country into a pandemic.

“.. 29.7% of the population for whom poverty status is determined in Bronx County, NY (422k out of 1.42M people) live below the poverty line, a number that is higher than the national average of 13.1%. DataUSA,2019”

Considering the speed in which this virus has surfaced and spread throughout our city, our organization immediately called an emergency respond team to gather in deliberation on a position and route in which we were administrating relieve in our communities. The Bronx’s poverty status makes up 29.7%, that is 13.1% more than our nations average.

Hunger and poverty often go hand in hand, but poverty is not the ultimate determinant of food insecurity. People living above the poverty line are often at risk of hunger, as well.

Let’s Respond is serving on the front line providing and delivering groceries to families and elderly throughout the Bronx. Our team has contributed to both the decline of surging rates of the virus by equipping responsible skilled personnel to shop and deliver groceries enforcing social distancing practices. As well as supporting those who are food insecure.

What makes us different is our unique partnership with NYC Landlords who provide affordable housing. NYC represents one of the strongest housing engines in the nation. We are proud to partner with landlords who are committed to the preservation of affordable housing. These landlords understand that their tenants are vulnerable and through this partnership ensure that when a gap occurs with food, they respond with dignity.

Let’s Respond is a supportive care program that provides groceries in times of crisis. No questions asked, just kind reminders through food that everyone is valued, and we all need a helping hand once in a while.
